On the bench right now
Commission clients get these updates by email at each milestone. This is the current piece in the [Autumn 2026] calendar, published so you can see exactly what a build looks like before you order one.
Day 1
Boards chosen
Stock pulled off the rack and laid out on the bench. You get a photograph of the actual boards before a saw touches them.

Day 3
Field cut and laid
Herringbone pieces cut, dry-fitted, and numbered. This is where the piece stops being an idea.

Day 6 · in progress
Lettering fitted
Letters cut from contrast stock, shaped, and set proud of the field so they throw a shadow.

Day 9
Frame and joinery
Frame mitred, fitted, and ebonized. Mounting hardware let into the back.
Day 12
Finish and cure
Coats go on thin with a full cure between them. Nothing about this stage can be hurried.
Day 16
Registry and crating
Stamped, numbered, photographed, logged, crated, and collected by the freight carrier.
