Orders

Placing an order is an offer, which the studio accepts by confirming it. If a piece cannot be built as ordered, or a price is listed in error, the studio will tell you and refund you in full rather than substitute something you did not choose.

Commissions and deposits

A design deposit reserves a build slot and pays for the drawing stage. It is credited against the final price and is non-refundable once drawing work has begun. The balance is invoiced at drawing approval and due before the build starts. Two rounds of revisions are included; further rounds are billed at the studio's hourly rate.

Your content

You are responsible for what you ask to be engraved. By submitting wording, logos, or artwork, you confirm you have the right to use it. The studio will decline anything that appears to infringe a third party's rights or that it finds hateful.

The studio's designs

Designs, drawings, photographs, and the site itself belong to Alt Key Creations. A commissioned piece is yours; the design behind it is not licensed for reproduction. The studio may photograph finished work and show it in its gallery and registry unless you ask it not to in writing.

Natural variation

Every piece is made from solid wood, one at a time. Grain, color, and figure will differ from the photographs, and pieces change color over time. This is inherent to the material and is not grounds for a return.

Warranty and liability

Joinery and finish are warranted for the life of the piece against failure in normal indoor use. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, accident, extreme humidity, direct weather exposure, or refinishing by someone else. The studio's liability for any claim is limited to repair, replacement, or refund of the piece.

Hanging and installation

Pieces ship with hardware and a drawing, but the studio cannot know your wall. You are responsible for mounting into suitable structure. The studio is not liable for damage caused by a fastener that failed in your wall.

Governing terms
